Our 2025 COBKA Photography Contest invites you to capture the grace, detail, and wonder of beekeeping through your lens. This year’s theme celebrates the quiet dignity of the hive. Whether it’s a portrait of a queen or the dance of bees among Central Oregon wildflowers, we’re looking for stunning images that celebrate the art and aesthetic of beekeeping. Submit your most captivating photographs and show us what “Beauty and the Bee” means to you.

2025 COBKA Photography Contest Rules

❖ Each participant may submit up to two original photographs.
❖ Please complete one entry form per contestant.
❖ Photos must be high-resolution and reflect our 2025 theme.
❖ All entries must be the photographer’s own work.
❖ Selected images may appear in COBKA’s digital or printed materials — with credit.
❖ Judges and organizers are not eligible to enter.
❖ Entry Deadline: November 5th, 2025

• 1st Place: $75
• 2nd Place: $25
• 3rd Place: 1-year COBKA membership

Winners will be announced and recognized at the November COBKA meeting.

COBKA Kids Photography Contest

2025 Theme: My Bee-utiful World 

For Ages 12 and Under

Whether you're snapping a photo of a fuzzy bee on a flower, your backyard beehive, or your favorite bug hotel - this is your chance to show us what’s bee-utiful in your world! Our Kids Photography Contest is all about seeing nature through your eyes. You don’t need any fancy equipment - just curiosity, creativity, and a love of bees and nature.

2025 COBKA Kids Photography Contest Rules

❖ Please ask an adult to help you complete the entry form.
❖ You may submit up to two original photos that you took yourself.
❖ Photos should relate to this year’s theme: My Bee-utiful World.
❖ Use the best quality image you can, but don’t worry — it doesn’t need to be perfect!
❖ Some photos may appear on COBKA’s website or in newsletters — with your name on it!
❖ Deadline to Enter: November 5th, 2025

1st Place: Kid-friendly beekeeping & pollinator gift basket

2nd Place: $15 gift card (local shop)
3rd Place: A bee-themed surprise and certificate

All participants will receive a printable certificate and a big thank-you at our November club meeting!

Need a little help getting started?

• Look for bees in your garden or neighborhood park.

• Ask an adult to help you stay safe near bees or hives.

• Try taking photos early in the morning or when flowers are blooming.

• Show us what makes you smile in the world of bees and nature!
